Happy Mother's Day

On Friday afternoon, I attended a Mother's Day tea hosted by the kindergarten class at Saigling elementary. I remember attending this event when Conner was in Kindergarten, too. I want to say thanks to the teachers and PTA volunteers who helped make this experience so special.

First the kids sang four or five precious songs for us, one in particular had us all in tears. Thoughtful volunteers had placed boxes of tissue on each table. Each child had make a book about mom and a card that they had cross-stitched a heart on (I did get to volunteer with the cross-stitching a few weeks ago and the kids took the project very seriously). After singing, the children served us tea, lemonade and cookies. It was a beautiful program and the children were so proud of themselves! They even cleaned up all the dishes with pride, no complaining. What a great way to teach our children about giving to and serving others. It was a beautiful experience. I want to thank my daughter for all she did to make it a perfect afternoon for me.

I hope each and every one of you gets well taken care of today and someone says thank you for all the wonderful things you do in our role as mom, wife, caretaker and more. I honor you for al the time, energy and love that give every day to your children.
